  • Tour description Romsdalshorn (North Wall)

The hike starts at the end of the Vengedalen valley, a short drive from Åndalsnes. We begin by walking up a steep but very beautiful path that leads us to a ridge with great viewpoints over Romsdalen.

Continuing along the ridge, we reach “Gapet”, the starting point where we prepare for the technical part of the hike ahead. This will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.

The first 100 meters involve relatively easy scrambling, but the terrain gradually gets steeper, and we have to climb to grade 4 (Norwegian) to reach the top. We expect around six-seven pitches, covering about 250 meters of ascent.

The climb is steep, but never difficult. Just where you need a roof – there is a roof!
After about 2 hours of climbing, you will stand at the top – overlooking the infamous Trollveggen, Romsdalen, and you can now say you have climbed Romsdalshorn!

For our descent we use the same route we went up, and rappel back down safely. We usually start the adventure at 07:00, and the whole trip takes between 6-8 hours.

  • If you book a course outside of peak season (May/June and September/October), we offer a favorable price and flexible booking terms!
