“Store Vengetind is the highest mountain in Romsdalen and a truly impressive mountain. The mountain offers several classic routes, and among the most sought-after are Drømmediederet and the airy Vengetindtraversen – two of the greatest guided experiences you can have in the area.

A very beautiful and iconic climbing route to the highest mountain in the area!
The line follows a marked gradient with steady, technical climbing in solid rock. The route offers everything from fine jam moves to exposed pitches, and leads us elegantly up to the summit of Store Vengetind.
The “Dream Diedret” itself is no more than about 7 rope lengths, but it is a long approach in complex terrain that requires rope and pitched climbing. The difficulty level is set at 5-.
Overall, the trip is very varied and beautiful, with cleaving and jamming, airy egg and gentle climbing. Everything a climber could want.
The return from the top is long and demanding.
Time required is approximately 3 hours to start the Dream Stage, and a total of 8-10 hours.
Level and recommendations
The trip is suitable for those who are in good physical shape and enjoy steep and exposed terrain. You do not need any previous climbing experience – I will teach you what you need along the way – but some experience with climbing or rappelling will allow you to relax more and have an even better experience. It is important that you are comfortable with heights.

Good physical fitness: You should be able to walk at least 800–1500 meters in altitude in a day, with a capacity of approximately 400 meters in altitude per hour.
Climbing experience is an advantage, but not necessary. Storen is a steep and airy peak so it is very important to be comfortable with heights. You can participate in an introductory climbing course with us if you want to prepare yourself better. Please contact us.

We usually start early in the morning to get a good rhythm through the day and be back at Turtagrø in the afternoon. The trip itself normally takes between 8 and 10 hours, depending on conditions and pace.
From Turtagrø we don't spend more than about three hours up to Bandet. If we see that time is running out already here, we have to make an assessment of the total time spent and whether it is reasonable to continue. Sometimes this means we have to re-evaluate whether the day is right for us – safety and capacity always come first.
